I’m too lazy to come up with somewhat creative titles for my posts. I just want to write and get things down….I guess that’s why they’re optional.
Went hiking today. Boy, what a freaking work out. We started off at Cape Schanck. Walked down to the rock pools and “studied” marine organisms for my biology glass. Wasn’t really doing much but observing. My prof didn’t even collect our field notebooks. She was like “I’ll collect them on Wednesday so if anyone wants to fill in more information please do so.” Lol, what? They’re called FIELD NOTES for a reason. This can’t be university, man. Climbed back to the top of the hill and then hiked 3.4km to Bushrangers Bay. I thought a km was shorter than a mile but that hike felt like agessss. It’s like 33 degrees Celsius, mind you. Finally got to the beach and it was well worth it. It was so beautiful I can’t even explain it. I’ll post a photo but I doubt it will do it justice. Water was ice cold. :) Swam then hiked 2.6km up and out. I ended up walking alone most of the way because everyone was going slow. I wanted to get on the air conditioned bus…no time to lollygag. Since the hike out was a different way then we came down I kept turning corners hoping I was at the end only to be disappointed. :/ Got to the clearing and the bus wasn’t even there! It came within 10mins though.
I was complaining about the weather too much because today was overwhelmingly hot. Climbing cliffs certainly didn’t help. At least I came out sunburn free.
Dinner was yummy lasagna. They always have the best salads also. I ate so much, two squares of lasagna and like 3 saucers of salad. Then I got a shit ton of fruit with chocolate sauce. While I was in line for the fruit this old woman asked me if we could “swapsies,” it was the cutest thing ever. I needed to get to the chocolate and she to the fruit. We talked about the Catholic retreat she was on (finally figuring out why there are so many old people on campus!) and what I’m going to be doing over my break week. Great Barrier Reef, what upp!
Ended the day watching the sunset at Princess Park with my new bestie Wyatt.
