While discussing Australia Day and all of it’s festivities in my culture class today Kimbra was brought up. All the young folk listen to a countdown of the year’s 100 best songs on Australia Day; it is tradition. It’s always a great thing when an Australian artist tops the list. The top song of 2011 was Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye feat. Kimbra. Gotye is a native Aussie while Kimbra was born in New Zealand. She now resides in Melbourne which happens to be where I’ve been for the past 4 weeks and will be for another 12 days. I really like Somebody That I Used to Know and Call Me. I’m in the process of downloading her album and if Ki says it’s good then I might just agree.
